Behold, our constitution.

Preamble:
We the People of the Chesapeake Bay Club create this club to further the preservation of the Chesapeake Bay. We hold meetings to spread awareness about the Chesapeake Bay, plan our service projects, and lobby political aspects of the Bay.

Article 1: Holding of Meetings.
We take roll alphabetically. This is followed by an announcement of recent Bay related news and update in the Chesapeake Bay Club agenda. We will then plan Chesapeake Bay service activities, fundraisers, and devise other ways to promote the general wellbeing of the Chesapeake Bay.

Article 2: Elections.
If the standing governing president is a senior and did not fail (in others words will graduate) he/she will nominate an interim president for the first month of the following school year. Then the first meeting after October 1, the club will hold elections for the positions of president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, historians, and technology specialist. You must be nominated by another club member and then the members at the current club meeting will vote. Majority wins. To run for the office of President and Vice President you must have been to all of the previous meetings of the current school year. If the club members decide to have more offices they will hold a vote for each office before nominating members to fulfill them.

Article 3: To impeach an officer.
If a current officer is absent without a reasonable excuse for three consecutive meetings, someone can motion for them to be impeached. To be impeached a vote must be put in front of the members and must have a 2/3 majority. Then refer to Article 2 to elect a member to fill the position.

Article 4: Membership eligibility
To become an upstanding member of the Chesapeake Bay club, one must be an enrolled student in that school year at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. You must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and pass a minimum of 5 classes. If your candidacy is legitimate, then you can formally apply to take the entrance exam required by all members. The applicant will demonstrate their ability to distinguish between animals and plants of the bay, locate the bay on a map, and affirm their commitment to the salvation of the Chesapeake Bay.

Article 5: Amendments
Amendment of this constitution requires a 2/3 vote of active members.

Amendment I
Two candidates for Club President may choose to run together and be elected as Co-Presidents. In that case there is no Vice-President.
