goals. The primary objectives of Excelsior Aerospace Club is to bring aerospace engineering to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) students as well as increase the interest in aerospace at other high schools. With the ultimate goal of giving TJHSST students a chance to design and construct small satellites, and with the upcoming annual Northern Virginia Student Aerospace Conferences, we hope to raise the bar higher for today's high school students and what they can accomplish in the field of engineering. Excelsior Aerospace Club exists at TJHSST to organize and facilitate all student endeavors in the areas of space exploration. Our current programs include annual participating in the CanSat Competition, taking field trips to aerospace related sites, holding annual Aerospace Conferences for students, communicating with satellites via HAM radio, and creating a series of entirely student run satellites, with the first finished by 2009, through TJHSST's Systems Engineering course. To follow the progress of TJSAT-1, our first satellite, visit our Systems Engineering web page.
