The Executive Coordinator is equivalent to the position of the Club President, and is responsible for spending many hours a week leading the club and making sure all the goals are reached. This year's Executive coordinator has the duty of setting a standard of Excelsior's following years, for example recruiting new members, establishing the annual participation of Excelsior's members in the CanSat competition, raising money periodically for the club, creating relationships with engineers and professionals from the aerospace industry, sending out weekly emails to the members and update emails to partnership companies, organizing club meetings and field trips, updating the website every week, advertising Excelsior at school events like the Activities Fair and Back to School Night, and last but not least making sure everyone is having fun.
The Conference Coordinator is directly responsible for organizing our Northern Virginia Aerospace Conference (NVSAC). This year's Conference Coordinator is also the Webmaster and has the equivalence of being the Vice President of the Club or the Executive Coordinator's right hand man. Duties include: leading the Conference Planning Committee, setting a place and date for the conference, contacting speakers and presenters, creating a schedule of events, and inviting local high schools to attend.
The CanSat Coordinator (which is this year's Executive Coordinator) is responsible for knowing what the CanSat Competition guidelines are (which change year to year), organizing teams of Excelsior members, making sure we meet all the deadlines, staying updated to CanSat Competition news, and most importantly reaching our goal of participating annually and hopefully winning.
An Excelsior Officer helps out by leading CanSat teams, filling in for the other Coordinators when needed, advertising Excelsior Club at events, and generally being able to help out when needed.
