TJ GEMS GIRLS IN ENGINEERING, MATH, & SCIENCE
HOME HISTORY & MISSION SCHEDULE NEWS MEMBERS LINKS & CONTACTS	News ¨ This February, GEMS received a generous grant from Soroptimist International of Arlington. The funding is very much appreciated and will help finance a spring science field trip with the Glasgow girls. ¨ On Friday, March 4^th, 2005, Mrs. Cox, Headmistress of a school in England, will visit TJ to share her experiences and discuss issues about girls in science. 2004-2005 goals (from History & Mission): - Increase one-on-one mentoring with the girls - Have a consistent number of TJ and Glasgow girls each Wednesday - Organize two teams of TJ girls that would each visit Glasgow every other week - Expand the number of girls we tutor - Organize bonding activities with the Glasgow girls and within TJ - Hold fundraisers, including a fall car wash, t-shirt sales, and a J-Day booth - Organize fun and educational field trips
