What We've Been Doing

Previous meeting activities and powerpoints will be uploaded shortly.

November 29, 2006
Dr. Jeffrey Mazique addressed the club and spoke about his experiences as a doctor. His interactive presentation included case studies, ethical discussions, and life as a doctor. The handouts he provided can be downloaded from the links below. Pictures can be viewed here.

The club hosted its first Problem-Based Learning, in which teams of four were given symptoms, asked questions, and allowed to request labwork while trying to diagnose an imaginary patient. Though you won't get to ask us questions, you may still try to solve the case using the handouts below. The rules are: read the introduction, then handout 1. Then request one lab test. If the one you request is not listed below, assume it came back normal. Then read handouts 2 and 3. Then read "possible diagnosis" and request your final lab. The solution is given in the final handout. Good luck!

The club officers gave a presentation on how to read various medical scans and laboratory tests. Additionally, members of the club were given a competitive activity. Both the powerpoint and the activity can be downloaded below. Answers to the activity can be obtained from the officers.
