The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology Octagon Club is a community service organization dedicated to serving the Alexandria, Virginia area. Some of the club's recent projects include raising over 800 lbs. of pasta for local food banks and setting up a Halloween party for mentally handicapped residents of the Northern Virginia Training Center.

The TJHSST Octagon Club is associated with the Springfield Chapter of Optimists International. The club has been growing since its inception, and currently over 20 students at TJHSST are members. The club meets at least once every month during the school year to do a community service project. The club is always looking for new ideas. If you have an idea please tell us. If you represent another community service organization we would be happy to our share ideas with you. If you are seeking inspiration, be sure to check out the Optimist Creed.
