The official date for the 2008 Spontaneous Invitational has been confirmed for Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Thomas Jefferson High School (6560 Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22312). This is a wonderful opportunity for teams from schools within the area to practice a variety of different problems in preparation for the upcoming Regional Odyssey of the Mind competition. While the Invitational is predominantly for Division 1 and 2 teams, Primary
teams are welcome to participate in Division 1 or observe other teams in action. The schedule (updated) is as follows. Judge registration will occur at 7:30 in the morning, and judge training will begin at 8:00. Teams should register between 8:00 and 8:30. Spontaneous problems will begin at 9:00. The awards ceremony will be held at 2:00 that afternoon. To register, please follow the directions on the registration form. Please note that the registration deadline for the Invitational is Sunday, January 13. We must receive all checks by Friday, January 18.

World Finals Results
TJHSST sent two teams to the World Finals this year, one of which competed in two problems. The team of Sumit Malik, Jeanette Miranda, Ryan Kim, Shebani Rao, Vangie Xu, Shu Liu, and Aditya Palepu placed 11th in Problem 2: The Large and Small of It. The team of Sunaina Kapoor, Ankit Kapoor (Kilmer Middle School), Christianna Hay, Kushal Seetharam, Dustin Moore, Arjun Khanna, and Nicole Yu placed 7th in Problem 1: Tag 'Em and 16th in Problem 4: Out of the Box Balsa. Congratulations to all TJHSST teams!
