The top 5 students from the country will travel to the IPhO to compete internationally; they will be selected at the US Physics Team training camp.

Previous years:

2007 - (10 semifinalists, 2 US camp) Sarah Marzen and Arvind Thiagarajan went to the camp.

2004 - (8 semifinalists, 1 US camp) Sam Lederer went to the Camp and reportedly had a good time and learned lots of physics.

2003 - (14 semifinalists, 2 US camp) The IPhO in Taiwan went fine, with participants taking precautions against the SARS virus. Immanuel Buder placed 23rd and got silver.

2002 - The United States did not attend the IPhO in Indonesia for safety reasons.
