Background Guide

Ishan Ajwani

Chair

Hey, what’s up, I’m Ishan, and I’m excited to be chairing the Quantum Leap committee along with Gia. It’s my last year at TJ, and I started doing MUN last year. I’ve always loved public speaking, but MUN has definitely given me an ability to communicate and articulate my thoughts which I consistently use in all parts of my life. I love cooking, exercising, and music, especially SZA, Travis, and the Neighbourhood. Being in student government and leading clubs I’m passionate about, I also love to collaborate and I highly value ambition, both of these qualities being ones that we will hope to see in our delegates this committee. I really hope that all delegates in my committee will enjoy being able to work with other passionate high schoolers and make this conference a great one!

Being someone who has spent years involved in computer science and AI, this committee’s topics are ones that are near and dear to my heart. Gia and I will be looking for delegates who are not only subtle and influential leaders, but who also have an ambition to tackle problems in a way that is unique and constructive. Regardless of whether this is your first conference or your tenth, we want you to step out of your comfort zone, dream big, and take a risk or two! We look forward to chairing a committee worth remembering, and if you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to reach out to nvidiatechmun2025@gmail.com.

Gia Irudhayanathan

Chair

Hey everyone! My name is Gia and I am a junior at TJ. I’m so excited to be your chair for Quantum Leap: NVIDIA’s Semiconductor Revolution. I started Model UN my freshman year, and ever since then, it has been one of my favorite experiences of high school. It’s because of Model UN that I’ve made some of my closest friends. MUN isn’t just about debating the political and economic state of the world; it’s about thinking on your feet and forming impromptu friendships that can last a lifetime. From late night grinding to making cringy hooks for committee, I have seen a lot, and cannot wait to see you all!

Outside of MUN, you can find me going on walks, baking, or watching Grey’s Anatomy for the hundredth time. While I know that for a lot of you this is not your first conference, we will be looking for delegates that are diplomatic and innovative. I am sure each and every one of you will bring your most creative speeches and solutions, and I’m so excited to see how you all contribute to the energy in the committee room.  If you have any questions, feel free to email us at nvidiatechmun2025@gmail.com. One last tip–don’t start your position papers the night before! I’m speaking from experience.
