Background Guide

Chinmayee Yerraguntla

Chair

Hi! My name is Chinmayee, and I'm so excited to be one of your chairs for this committee. I am a junior at TJ, and this is my sixth year doing Model UN. I enjoy MUN because of all the memories I've made, from the stressed knee-shaking during opening ceremonies to the stressed knee-shaking during closing ceremonies. In all seriousness though, I've made so many friends and memories that I will treasure forever, and I wouldn't trade those people and experiences for anything. Outside of MUN, I enjoy downing cans of energy drinks, binge-watching shows on Netflix, and destroying Chipotle bowls with ease.

Delegates, I hope that if there’s anything you take from this committee, it’s that there is no experience more rewarding than one where you learn. Whether this is your first or last conference, I hope you step out of your boundaries and grow as a delegate. In committee, we’re looking for delegates who are diplomatic (!), collaborative, and truly representative of their position. I cannot wait to meet you all and I hope that your experience at TechMUN will be an enjoyable one!

If you ever need to reach out to us before the committee, feel free to email either one of us at scrantonsummittechmun25@gmail.com!

Tanmayee Maddineni

Chair

Hey guys! My name is Tanmayee and I’m a senior at TJ. I’m honored to be one of your chairs for Scranton’s Summit at TechMUN! My curiosity for MUN started in 8th grade, unaware of the numerous skills I would gain so early on - honestly more than I could ever imagine. The memories and delegates I met from every conference are ones that I’ll keep for a lifetime. I’ve grown not only as a delegate by getting over the fear of public speaking, but as a person. Aside from times I’m not stressing over a conference, I usually try every flavor from Cold Stone, attempt to bake, or binge any tv show I find.

Delegates, regardless of how new you are to MUN, I highly encourage you to go out of your comfort zone, whether it’s working with someone you didn’t expect, standing up for your ideas, or going for that mod speech you weren’t prepared for. Don’t be afraid to take a stance for what you believe in, and create crazy out-of-the box solutions! If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to talk, feel free to email any of us at scrantonsummittechmun25@gmail.com. Can’t wait to meet all of you!
