Background Guide

Avni Patel

Chair

Delegates, Welcome to the Specialized Committee on the Titanic! My name is Avni Patel, and I am honored to be your Chair for this committee. I have attended several Model United Nations conferences, where I have developed a deep appreciation for engaging debate, innovative problem-solving, and high-stakes crisis situations. Partnering with my Co-Chair, Pranav, I have had the privilege of tackling various historical and modern crises, and I am beyond excited to bring this immersive experience to life with all of you.

As Chair, I am looking for individual’s with a sophisticated demeanor, creative strategic thinking, and adaptability in the face of the unexpected. I encourage you to think critically, act decisively, and embrace the challenges ahead. Outside of MUN, I enjoy playing soccer, photography, and playing piano. I also love movies and shows, and would love to chat if you have any good recommendations!

I’m also a huge sports fan and watch every single Capitals game (mainly to see Ovechkin hit 895), and follow the Commanders and the Eagles (go birds!). I also do cheer and varsity girls' wrestling.

I look forward to seeing your quick thinking, persuasive negotiation skills, and, of course, a bit of dramatic flair! If you have any questions, send us an email at titanictechmun2025@gmail.com. Best of luck, and may the best leaders emerge from the icy waters of history.

Pranav Kalidindi

Chair

Dear Delegates, My name is Pranav Kalidindi, and I am thrilled to serve as your Chair for this committee alongside my Co-Chair, Avni Patel. My name is Pranav Kalidindi and I am a junior. I am currently a junior and have been an active member of the Model UN community for over 3 years. From blanking at WMHSMUN and gaveling at CHMUN to late nights at ILMUNC, my experiences in MUN have not only deepened my understanding of global issues but also strengthened my appreciation for diplomacy, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. Outside of MUN, I am a proud member of my school's varsity basketball team. Playing basketball has taught me to stay focused under pressure, think quickly on my feet, and work seamlessly with a team—qualities I hope to bring to our sessions and see in all of you.

In committee, I am looking for delegates who are adaptable, effective communicators, and approachable. Whether it’s drafting resolutions, negotiating with peers, or presenting your stance, I encourage you to take initiative, stay engaged, and bring forward creative solutions. My goal is to foster a respectful and dynamic environment where every voice is heard and every perspective valued.

I look forward to meeting all of you and seeing your talents shine through thoughtful debate and strategic leadership. If you have any questions, send us an email at titanictechmun2025@gmail.com. Best of luck to all of you!
