Crisis delegates do not need position papers.

For TechMUN XXXI, position papers will be required for general assemblies and specialized committees and will be due before the first committee session. Position papers are NOT required for crisis committees. Position papers should include a cover page, a maximum of two pages per topic, and works cited page; plagiarism will not be tolerated and can result in disqualification. Delegate’s position papers should be written using a 12-point serif font, such as Times New Roman, and use single-space line spacing. However, if delegates' school delegation requires a different format, we will accept that as well.

Please submit your position papers VIRTUALLY to the committee email listed in your committee background guide. For general assemblies and specialized committees, position papers will be looked at and used as part of deciding awards, however number grades will not be returned unless specifically requested. If crisis delegates submit a position paper, it will not be graded unless specifically requested, and it will not be used as a part of deciding awards. If you have any questions, please email your chairs.

Position Papers Should include the following:
  • A background of your committee and its topics (Can be divided into 2 topics)
  • A Position/Stance towards each topic
  • A solution section for each topic
Please submit all position papers VIRTUALLY
