TJQB attends a variety of competitions, both local and national throughout the year, culminating in the VHSL and national championships. Tournaments are a great way to tour the DMV area as well as show academic prowess at all levels.
TJQB conducts annual summer practices, usually at a member's house, to continue to foster the growth of academic learning over summer break, as well as introduce new freshmen to TJQB. TJQB also hosts weekend online practices in the discord.
Each year, TJQB hosts three Quizbowl tournaments of their own at varying levels (novice, middle school, and invitational). These tournaments serve as fundraising events and valuable outreach opportunities.
TJQB eighth periods are Wednesday and Friday B blocks, and typically serve as perfect time for practices. There are packets of varying difficulties open to everyone. There will additionally be lectures announced ahead of time.
