Topic 1: The Battle of the Three Dynasties

Topic 2: A Crumbling Empire: The Toll of War on the Shu Han Economy

Rohith Yelisetty

Hi guys! I’m Rohith, a junior at TJ and I’m super excited to be your director for this year’s JCC. This is my third TechMUN and my fifth year doing MUN overall. Being a part of MUN has given me so many opportunities and experiences from running around Philly trying to scrap together a JPD to walking into a committee with 15 minutes of prep. Throughout the years, MUN has played an integral role in who I am as a person and has helped me in growing my leadership and public speaking skills.

Outside of MUN, you’ll probably find me building robots and rockets, stealing all of Aditi’s food, kicking Raghav out of his seat on the bus, or pinching Akshaya’s rosy cheeks (he swears he doesn’t wear blush). During committee, I will be looking for delegates that employ the qualities of a leader while being able to stay diplomatic throughout the entirety of the conference. I’m looking forward to intense debate, innovative solutions, and extremely creative backroom notes. Regardless of how new you are to MUN, I encourage you guys to step out of your comfort zone and raise your placard, write that JPD with another delegate you just met, or even plot to take over committee. See you all in April!

Aditi Kodukula

Hi guys! I’m Aditi, and I’ll be your director for Shu Han at TechMUN’s JCC this year! I am a sophomore at TJ, but this is my 4th year doing MUN. Whether it has been planning a mafia heist in my hotel room or Apple-mapping my way through Philly, MUN has given me some of the most fulfilling memories that I could have ever asked for. However, when I’m not planning mafia heists, you can find me crying over chemistry, scrolling through Instagram (@aditi.kodukula :), baking cookies, or running away from the cookie monster (Rohith).

As far as committee goes, we want to see arcs that get us excited. Show your creative side, take risks, and most importantly, be fun! The connections you make with other delegates at TechMUN are priceless, and we want to see you foster this sense of diplomacy all weekend. This is your chance to start rebellions, build walls and armies, or commit some arson and [probably] not get in trouble. It took me a very long time to appreciate the beauty of crisis, but take the fast-paced and dynamic committee setting to your own advantage! I’m excited to see what you all bring to the table this April! Until then, if you have any questions or just want to say hi, feel free to email us at shuhantechmun2024@gmail.com. See you soon!

Matt Sprintson

Hello everyone, I’m Matt, and I’m currently a senior at TJ. I have experience in Economics and History, so I’m looking forward to chairing this committee and would ask all of the delegates to have a comprehensive understanding of the material and good (or at least interesting) solutions to the problems at hand. I value diplomacy, stimulated, articulate conversations, and a well-researched knowledge base to work from. I don't appreciate shady behavior and greedy choices - mostly because they’re boring. As chairs, my partner and I would prefer y’all to be interesting to listen to because you have novel ideas and contributions. See y’all during the committee!

Jordan Hadjimichael

Hey, I’m Jordan, and I’m a senior at TJ. As mentioned above, please try to be interesting in a way that’s not just wack or outlandish, actually have good ideas and get them implemented. I’d like to see a committee that gets its job done and doesn’t waste time, and I’ll value delegates who are willing to accept compromises in the name of a greater goal. Again, as mentioned by my partner, come prepared with the prerequisite knowledge to contribute. I appreciate that skill and creatively making up facts can be a moderately successful strategy, but ultimately my partner and I will value those who actually know their history. Be creative, use anything you think you’d have access to, and above all think carefully. Even if you’re not as outwardly successful as you’d like, effort and intelligent planning can go a long way, as long as you can demonstrate it. (Also, be as greedy and shady as you like, as long as you can explain your motivations.)
