Hi everyone and welcome to TechMUN XXXI! I’m Jia and I’m honored to be your co-chair for UNEP. This is my 3rd year in MUN and 3rd year doing TechMUN. I joined MUN in freshman year because my friend was doing a mock and she promised me boba if I went with her, but now, MUN has become one of the biggest parts of my high school career. From preparing my idea paper 5 minutes before ILMUNC to late night panicking with Claire, MUN has given me some of the best memories and friends that I will cherish forever.
Outside of MUN, you’ll most likely find me dancing, drawing, or organizing my Taylor Swift album collection. I also love K-Dramas so if you have recs feel free to send them over! During this committee session, we hope that you have fun and come up with creative solutions! No solution’s too ridiculous as long as you can find a way to back it up, so step out of your comfort zone. We are looking for strong and fun speakers, diplomatic delegates, and creative ideas. Claire Guo
Hi everyone! My name is Claire and I will be one of your co-chairs for UNEP. I’m currently a junior at TJ and this year will be my third year in MUN and my second doing TechMUN. I joined MUN freshman year and since then, it has played an integral part of my life. From walking to the front of the room with a giant notepad in my hand (Leah, if you are out there you can attest to this) to being able to give speeches confidently with no notes, MUN has regularly challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and become a better speaker.
Outside of MUN, you’ll most likely find me binge-watching shows on Netflix, freaking out over math, or spending hundreds of dollars on clothes. During this committee, we value diplomacy, strong speeches, and creative solutions. Do not be afraid to step outside the norms of MUN, and do something unique!
