Topic 1: Reaching the Cheese Moon

Topic 2: Rats Take Over NYC

Christine Qiao

Rats Up! Hey guys, I’m Christine, a sophomore here at TJ. I’m ecstatic to be your chair for Say Cheese: Geronimo Stilton! I’ve been part of TJMUN for the past two years and before then, I was in your shoes anxiously preparing for my first TECHMUN. It’s safe to say that Model UN has been a highlight of my life, whether it’s running around the streets of Philidelphia or vigorously thinking of funny hooks that might impress our chairs. MUN has exponentially bettered me in both my personal and academic life, and I hope to recreate that learning environment for you!

Besides MUN, you can catch me obsessing over the latest K-Drama, trying to master badminton, and making jokes that take a while for people to understand (Rats Up is like What’s Up?! Haha, get it?). What I’m looking for in committee is a well-rounded delegate who isn’t afraid to take on a challenge, respond to it diplomatically, and most importantly, have fun with it. Whether this is your first conference or twenty-first conference, there’s always something new to learn, so step out of your comfort zone and try something new! If you have any questions or comments, email us at saycheesetechmun24@gmail.com. See you guys in April and look forward to a rat-tastic surprise…!

Hrishi Desai

Hi Everyone! I’m Hrishi, a sophomore at TJ and I am so excited to be one of your chairs for the Say Cheese: Geronimo Stilton committee! This is my second TechMUN and my third year doing MUN, and I can confidently say that MUN has been one of my favorite experiences in high school. Whether it’s intensely debating during a mod or almost getting hit by a car on the streets of Philly, I’ve made some of my best friends and many unforgettable memories. It’s crazy to think that through this club, I’ve grown my public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills both inside committee and out.

Outside of MUN, you can find me playing baseball, tennis, trying new foods, doing chem, and listening to Christine’s terrible puns (seriously, did anyone get “Rats Up”?) - and if anyone has any new recipe recommendations, send them my way. In committee, I will be looking for delegates who show creativity, cooperativity, and initiative. A good leader knows how to be diplomatic while doing so, and that is an important quality in a delegate. Even if it’s your first conference, I hope each and every one of you raises your placard and steps out of your comfort zone because it makes for such a rewarding experience. I know that you might be nervous, but don’t be afraid to speak up - say what hasn’t been said, be creative, and go against what others think - that’s the key to having fun! See you guys in April and look forward to a rat-tastic surprise…!
