Ruhaan Singh

Hi everyone! I’m Ruhaan, and I am a sophomore at TJ. This is my second year doing MUN at TJ, and my first year doing crisis, and I am excited to bring you all an exciting experience at TECHMUN XXI. Some of my closest friendships have been built through MUN, and I hope that you can branch out to many people, make new friends, and most importantly, have fun. Going from gigantic GAs that made me lose my mind to crisis was one of the best decisions I ever made, and I’m very glad to be your director this TECHMUN. I love crisis committees due to the open nature and creativity that comes with it, and urge you all to think outside the box and have fun with your arcs.

During the committee, I’ll be looking for delegates who can adapt, be creative, and cause large scale issues that change the course of the committee. I want to see private directives that are well written, laying out a comprehensive plan. Privates should be within the powers that you have, but I urge you to not be limited by the bounds of your character and find creative ways to expand your powers. Don’t expect your arc to go exactly as planned, and don’t be disheartened if something you try to do is rejected, as I am looking for delegates who can move on, change, and adapt to anything we throw at you. I recommend that you don’t neglect the power of back room and integrate whatever you do behind the scenes in your moderated and unmoderated caucuses, trying to make the committee about the actions you do.

If you have any questions during committee about what is going on with your private directives whatsoever, feel free to ask to see me or send a note backroom. I will be available after the committee to give you advice to improve as delegates and continue on your journey to be the best delegate. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us at citybuilderdctechmun2024@gmail.com. I can’t wait to see you and read all the innovative things you have in store for me!

Julia Shi

Welcome to TechMUN XXXI! I’m Julia, a sophomore at TJ, and I’m honored to serve as one of your chairs for the City Builder: The Construction of District of Columbia 1800 committee! While this is only my second year in MUN, it's become a huge part of my life. From anxiously walking up to deliver my first opening in a GA to now chairing City Builder: DC, I’ve come far with TJMUN and can confidently say it’s given me some of my most valued experiences. Outside of MUN, you can catch me playing volleyball, scrolling through Instagram, listening to music, or reading.

In committee, we will be looking for diplomatic delegates that demonstrate skills in speaking, collaborating, and causing chaos in backroom. I encourage you all to step out of your comfort zone and give riveting speeches or create pandemoniac updates with your arcs while working fairly with others. As your TechMUN chair, I hope to give you a great experience and improve your skills as a delegate! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at citybuilderdctechmun2024@gmail.com. See you in April, and best of luck!

Ashnie Trikha

Hi everyone! I'm Ashnie, and I am currently a sophomore at TJ. This marks my second year as a part of TJHSST MUN, and I'm thrilled to say that this experience has been incredibly fulfilling so far. I've formed some of my closest friendships at TJ and have gained a diverse set of new skills in public speaking, collaboration, and communication. Over the past few years, I've created unforgettable memories at MUN, from the nerve-wracking moments of preparing our MOD speeches to the late-night conversations with friends at our conference hotel. Outside of MUN, I enjoy watching Netflix series, reading new books, and hanging out with friends.

During the committee, I'll be looking for delegates who demonstrate adaptability and growth. I'll be seeking qualities such as intentional speaking during MOD speeches to address the issues at hand, diplomatic collaboration with other delegates during UNMODs, and the ability to employ dynamic leadership to adapt to various situations throughout the session. At the end of committee, I'll personally offer insightful advice on how to enhance your skills for future leadership opportunities. This guidance will empower you, as delegates, to develop your skill sets and implement new practices in future MUN committees.

I'm incredibly excited to meet all of you during the committee! If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us at citybuilderdctechmun2024@gmail.com. Looking forward to a fantastic experience together!
