The National Catholic Forensic League is a major organization of high school speech and debate events along with the National Speech and Debate Association. TJ Forensics competes in the Washington-Arlington Catholic Forensic League at 5 WACFL tournaments over the course of the year to qualify students for the National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament in May.
The Virginia High School League hosts several tournaments every year including Regionals 5C and Super-Regionals, culminating in the State Championship Tournament in March.
The National Speech and Debate Association is a student debate society that directs high school speech and debate events. Every June, the National Speech and Debate Association hosts the NSDA Finals, which students qualify for at the Virginia District Tournament in March.
